Workshop #1: Current, Best Strategies to Help SLPs Better Meet Student Needs
This seminar will provide SLPs with a wide array of practical ideas to help them emphasize active listening skills, vocabulary growth, critical thinking skills and speech/language development without relying on worksheets.  SLPs will learn implementation strategies to help ensure a high-quality RTI program. The presenter will demonstrate a variety of highly effective lessons, activities and strategies designed to motivate speech students of all ability levels in large and small groups. Learn proven techniques that will help achieve and assess carryover of speech students' targeted goals in articulation, language, fluency and voice.

Participants will learn many classroom-tested activities that are useful in resource rooms, for collaborative teaching, for Tiers 1 and 2 of the RTI model, and for inclusion programs - which will help their students improve in the critical areas of active listening, grammar, critical thinking skills, vocabulary and phonemic awareness.  Additional emphases for this seminar include literacy skills development and multi-modal learning.

Workshop #2: Implementation Strategies to Help SLPs Ensure a High Quality RTI Program
Examine the important roles and responsibilities of speech pathologists within a RTI model. Discover timesaving plans and techniques for developing a program that allows the SLP to address prevention and implement early intervention activities without interfering with services to students on IEPs. Participants will look at a variety of service delivery options and flexible schedules that will help SLPs move their programs forward within the tiered model.

This workshop features research-based strategies and lesson plans that will help you create effective, meaningful, differentiated instruction that will reinforce literacy skills development in grades K - 6.

In this "hear it today & use it tomorrow session" SLPs will receive dozens of ideas for intervening with speech-language differences and disabilities at all levels of intensity and in varied environments.

Workshop #3: Listening: The Key to Language & Literacy (Pre K — Gr. 1)
This session is short on theory, but long on practical ideas. The instructor will share practical, proven methods to help develop active listening skills, innovative ways to support emergent literacy skills and numerous creative ideas to stimulate vocabulary development in our youngest students. Participants will leave the session ready to implement a wealth of innovative strategies, lessons and ideas that emphasize the listening skills that will provide a foundation for acquisition of language, phonemic awareness and literacy skills.
